We have launched Petiole Pro on Patreon
As we open this new chapter on Patreon, we want to restate clearly what we are here to do.
–
Why We Are Doing This
Our mission is to keep the Petiole Pro Android app free and available to as many researchers and growers as possible, so that essential plant-phenotyping tools remain within reach regardless of budget.
We are also committed to maintaining our “AI in Agriculture” Udemy course as a free resource — already used by more than 1,700 learners across 98 countries — so that students and practitioners can build skills without encountering a paywall.
Finally, we will continue to publish practical, field-tested content that translates methods into real-world workflows, helping the community adopt AI responsibly and effectively in fields, orchards, and greenhouses.
–
Why Patreon?
We selected Patreon for two reasons:
-
We do not want to place essential plant-phenotyping tools behind a paywall.
-
We support a “funding the commons” approach so that students, researchers, and growers can learn without a credit-card barrier.
With 100+ academic citations validating our methods and 10,000+ downloads of the Petiole Pro app in real-world use, we’re not just talking about vision — we’re delivering it.
Over a decade of field work has turned computer vision and deep learning into practical phenotyping and quality-control workflows that scale from research plots to commercial orchards.
Petiole Pro is now on Patreon—help us keep plant phenotyping tools and AI-in-agriculture education free and open

What Your Support Enables
Support through Patreon helps us:
-
Maintain and improve the free Petiole Pro App.
-
Expand and update the free Udemy course “AI in Agriculture: Practical Introductory Course”, adding new modules and case studies.
-
Produce deeper crop/tool dives in collaboration with our community — turning real questions into public, reusable knowledge.

How to Support
You can become a patron for ongoing support or make a one-time contribution if you prefer. Please choose the option that fits your budget and preferences.
If a financial contribution is not possible at this time, you can still help by sharing our Patreon page with colleagues who are interested in plants and data, engaging with our posts and open resources, and providing feedback on tools and workflows so we can improve them.

Looking Ahead
Agricultural innovation depends on practical tools, robust data, and open knowledge. Your support—whether financial, collaborative, or by simply sharing — helps keep these resources available to everyone.
Thank you for being part of the Petiole Pro community.
