Moreover, thanks to them we have apples, edible fruits produced by these trees. How to grow apple trees and how does Petiole Pro can help with this process? Today, we’ll focus on this aspect in detail.

Leaf Area Measurement of Apple Trees

We have already written about the possible use of Petiole Pro to measure apple tree leaves. At the same time, we would like to demonstrate how we measured these plant traits by ourselves.

We decided to measure an area of its leaf and estimate a level of chlorophyll in a leaf. We obtained the next results:

• Estimated time of measurement: less than a minute
• An apple tree leaf area: 6,8 square centimetres
• Dark green colour index: 0,52

Measuring an apple leaf surface area we cannot answer these questions (unfortunately!). But at least, we can help to get more accurate data about apple trees for over 8 000 types of apples on our planet.
